Since 1989, the Krewe of Apollo - Baton Rouge and its members have been actively involved in special events and fundraisers to help individuals in the community who are affected by HIV / AIDS and in need.
In 1993, the Krewe established a special fund for the ongoing project.
This fund helps those who are in financial need during sickness or other critical circumstances.
The Krewe has recently expanded its focus to providing grants to local agencies that provide direct services to those affected by HIV and AIDS.

Mission Statement
The Krewe of Apollo Baton Rouge’s Aids / Crisis Fund financially assists members of the community, that are affected by HIV / Aids and those affected by life’s unfortunate circumstances, enabling them to improve their quality of life with dignity and self determination.
Vision 2010
The Aids / Crisis Committee will focus on generating resources through an October Campaign, will coordinate activities to create awareness of the urgent need in our community, and will achieve a positive impact with its funding, believing that central to a community is care and concern for each individual.
The AIDS/Crisis Committee is pleased to announce a partnership with the Until There's A Cure Foundation. It is a nonprofit organization that raises funds and awareness about HIV/AIDS through the sale of The Bracelet. All proceeds fund prevention education, care services and vaccine development. Partner organizations are listed in a menu of Partners on the Until There's A Cure shopping cart. Customers select one of the Partners as a beneficiary to receive an amount equal to 25% of their purchases. By encouraging supporters to purchase products from Until There's A Cure, the AIDS/Crisis Fund can earn ongoing funds.
